helping hand;

▸ ‘ & The Assistant ;

Even if he did not speak it, Haru could safely assume
that the editor was rather amused right now. This was not
Haru’s intention, to be exactly compared like that, but he
was hoping this calmed the situation down now.

     ❝ Nanase Haruka. ❞ He looked to the main artist, and
she looked a bit horrified with himself. Haru had hoped that
one day he would be a main artist, too, for he had the skill,
and had good hands, after all. Perhaps this would give him
the chance, to prove himself, even if he had stepped in the
beginning to lend a helping hand.

                               “Nanase Haruka, you say?”

                 The name itself caused confusion within the editor as he examined the assistant; his face painting a blank expression. How can a man have such a…girly name? Nonetheless, it didn’t exactly matter that his name was more fit for a woman; all that mattered was that he was more productive than most of the mangakas that he worked with. It was actually rather refreshing to have someone who cares about the deadline more than they should. Nonetheless, he was actually proud of both parties; more so the artist for allowing the boy to work with them.

                               “Well, Nanase, glad to have you
                                 on this team. With your prompt
                                 habits, I hope you’ll be able to
                                 teach your mangaka how to turn
                                 in her manuscripts on time.”
