Haru’s eye twitched when his name was
repeated in such a manner. He knew how
girly it was, but it’s not like he could help it.
He was glad that the editor decided to not
dwell on it for long, and was relieved to be
spoken to with his last name, instead.

❝ I have tried. She never listens. ❞

He looked tot he mangaka then, hoping she
saw the apology in his eyes, but she simply
looked too out of it to concentrate on him and
what he was saying.

❝ I think the work is too much for her. ❞

Noticing the visible change in the other’s expression, Takano took a mental note to watch his words around the new blood. If Haruka was able to produce a mass amount of quality work, it wouldn’t had mattered to the editor if his name was one of the most feminine he had heard in a while. As long as the work was completed and the readers enjoy it, then that’s all that really matters.

“I assume. She doesn’t exactly learn
                                      from her mistakes.”

The words that escaped past the assistant’s lips caused the man to let out a curt laugh; his eyes averting back to the mangaka before turning his attention back to Haruka. The amount of work he gave her was no different from the other months. He had warned her weeks ahead that her deadline was approaching; however, it never seemed to sink in.

“If it’s too much for her, then she needs
to quit. If she expects to get by with
                              half-ass work and procrastination,
                                   then she shouldn’t be here.”
