BEMUSEMENT marred his features, mouth pulled to a tight line as proper consequence upon being physically hurt by that misplaced pun. Oh Saga, Saga. You have sunken low indeed.  Poor guy.

❛  And I have never been hurt like that PUN of yours

                                           you from your   L O N E S O M E   self.  ❜

Yuu should be shown GRATEFULNESS for his charity, really. Nevermind the fact that he was not exactly doing this out of the goodness of his heart but rather because he himself had no one else to hang out with too. A finger fiddled with an unused chopstick to distract himself just then, eager to ignore the ugly thorns of gloom that seemed to be nagging at the back of his head at the thought. He wasn’t lonely, but he wasn’t particularly overjoyed by the fact that he had no one else either. At least Saga CHOSE to keep to himself.

The sound of hand clapping brought him out of his reverie, however, and struggled to swat at the hand currently PINCHING him. Not that he was trying his hardest to shoo him away though, if his laughter was anything to go by.

❛ That actually hur – GET OFF !!

                           I wouldn’t hurt you PHYSICALLY. That’d probably

LONESOME thing. I mean, I could just hang out
with Ritsu if our friendship is just payment

Friendship really was enough for Saga, actually. Rhetorics that fell from Yuu’s mouth, though sometimes hurtful, were secretly a blessing in the teen’s life, but he would never let his best friend know. He should’ve already known that from the beginning.

The sound of Yuu’s laughter caused a smile to break out on the teen’s face. Though he was used to the solemn demeanor that the other wore, Saga would never be content with himself unless he was able to act–to make his friend smile once again. As he dropped his hand’s from Yuu’s face, the teen leaned back in his seat; hands pointing to the other’s face,

♞»   With a silent  s i g h , the megane returns his ID badge into his pocket, bringing his hand back up to adjust his glasses on the bridge of his nose. “ … Yeah.” No ‘thank you’ or anything to responsibly reply to a polite comment like such. But that was how Shiki always was.

image

Considering this guy was heading in the same direction, Shiki could at least conclude that this guy might be working in the same department as him — but at this point, he’s unaware of the other’s chief status. He just assumes he’s just a grumpy coworker in the Emerald department. So for the time being, the megane will just follow the taller male in whatever direction to find his new office.

Despite feeling a sense of DISDAIN towards the other male, Takano grew curious as to how someone like him was able to gain entry into Marukawa Publishing. Though the chief editor saw part of him in the other, he knew the right time to act in such a manner.

It can’t be helped, I guess.

With a heavy sigh and a thread of his fingers through his hair, the man quickly stepped out of the elevator as it reached his floor. Peering behind him, the man decided to “toy” with his new employee–wanting him to wallow in regret for acting out towards his superior. With a slight clear of his throat, Takano slowed his pace–matching the other’s–as he spoke,

Kurobane Shiki
ID #372443
Emerald Department

This was his first day actually working there — even the ID itself looked newly printed. Amazing how somebody as rude and antisocial as him was even able to get a job like this in very little time.

image

Shock took over the chief editor as he reread the stranger’s ID multiple times–gawking at the assigned department that was typed out in bold letters.

                                              Just my luck.

So this is our new employee? Takano tried his best to hold back his obvious disdain towards the male as he held out the card once again, edging for the other take it back. Never in his life had he ever wanted to leave work this early in the morning, especially due to one person; however, this person would probably be an exception. In his mind, the chief editor tried to come up with an excuse to miss work but knew that Ritsu would be the only one to notice the lie right away. With a heavy sigh, Takano ran his hand through his hair before regaining his composure–glancing sideways at the man beside him,

LOVE you so much, I want it. ❜

Maybe then Chiaki could actually pause for a second and LOOK at him, see him, notice how much he felt for him. Maybe then Yuu wouldn’t feel so pathetic chasing after someone like this, letting feelings and useless affections fester from within even whilst knowing that it was all in VAIN. Maybe then he could be grossly happy like Masamune and his precious Ritsu.

A snort escaped him, giving the other a sidelong glance. The fucking GALL of this brat to dismiss his cooking skills like that when he had been busy finishing off his lunch like it was nothing just a few moments ago – practically inhaling the thing. DISRESPECTFUL KOUHAI

❛ Then tomorrow’s bento is on you.

                             pay up.

The teen snickered quietly as he continued to consume his best friend’s lunch–glancing up at the other from time to time. The same blank stare that Yuu wore on certain days seemed to plaster itself there, despite his playful tone. Concern was always a feeling that Masamune felt whenever he was around his friend–knowing full well what was on his mind; however, the teen never wanted to voice that concern. The burden would just be too much for Yuu to handle.

Rolling his eyes, Masamune was able to leave half of the meal to the other as he clapped his hands together and bowed his head slightly as a sign of appreciation. A smirk laid upon his lips as the teen leaned over and pinched the other’s cheek roughly–twisting the skin a bit as he spoke,

▸ ‘ & Ayame ;

After picking up her younger sister from school Aya sighed falling back into the plush couch in their living room. She’d been there almost seven years now and there were still times when she felt like an outsider. Glancing over at the fourteen year old she chuckled before laying on the floor beside her to help with homework. Their parents would be home soon and she wanted to get started on dinner here soon.

Once she was sure the little one was on track the brunette pushed herself off the floor heading to the kitchen to make her papa’s favorite dinner. While she loved both her parents she’d become attached to Takano, they were similar in a lot of ways after all.

image

Hearing the lock click Ayame was pulled from her thoughts as she moved to the livingroom to greet her parents. “Welcome home daddy, papa. How was work?”

As tired feet carried the chief editor towards his apartment, Takano couldn’t hide the exhaustion that laid within him–mimicking the dead expression that his husband wore beside him. Despite his physical limit, the elder knew that he needed to push himself a little further; to save enough energy for one thing–actually–two things: his beautiful daughters. Takano regretted staying late at work while his girls were home alone but that didn’t stop him from coming home with a warm smile instinctively crawling onto his face as he embraces the two in his arms.

With the thoughts of Hanako and Ayame flooding his mind, the chief editor found himself motivated to stride faster–to reach his home with enough will power to greet his princesses. Instinctively placing the key into the knob, the man basically swung the door open; his eyes lighting up as his eldest daughter greeted him–the same smile lighting up his features as he slid his shoes off, making his way over to her.

▸ ‘ & Kirishima-san ;

Zen needed and most definitely deserved a break. Deadlines were some of the most stressful times for an editor, especially those who often needed to kick their authors into high gear. Though he was fortunate enough to manage mangakas who didn’t cause too much trouble for him, that didn’t mean he didn’t encounter problems; such was an impossible feat within the publishing business. And this months problem had been Kyo Ijuuin, whom he was the primary editor for. Earlier in the week he managed to get himself into a creative slump, which happened a few times throughout the year and only worked at heightening the editor’s stresses. Once Ijuuin got himself like that it was very difficult to get him working again, which drove Zen crazy. ( Mainly due to the fact he locked himself away and refused to talk to him or Shizuku. ) It was a miracle the manuscript even made it to the printers on time – but it had been done.

Now all the editor-in-chief wanted to do was find Yokozawa and go home to Hiyo; the company of his daughter and lover always brought a feeling of ease and upon his heart. Unfortunately that’d have to wait a while longer and he’d have to settle for a quiet smoke in the lounge. If anything he just needed a few minutes of peace where he wasn’t surrounded by the drained – well – everything. Everyone was exhausted and void of any and all energy; his co-workers resembled the living dead more than anything else and it was sucking the life right out of him.

With his heavy under eye bags and legs ready to give in, Zen wasn’t really one to talk.

As he neared the lounge, a familiar silhouette caught his attention. Ah, if it wasn’t the young editor-in-chief of Emerald, Masamune Takano. Who, coincidentally, was also the reason for Yokozawa’s broken heart all those months ago. Despite this, Zen held no ill will towards the man – largely due to the fact that Yokozawa didn’t, but also because he wasn’t one to let his private affairs interfere with his work  – and even respected him. He was the one who brought Emerald out of the seemingly eternal rut they’d been in, after all. He was clearly talented at his job and Zen recognized that fact.

image

“Takano-san,” he called as he approached the other. They appeared to have the same destination in mind so it wouldn’t hurt to have a chat with him. “Just barely, but we managed,” he answered. “The others weren’t so much a problem. Ijuuin Sensei got himself into one of his slumps again, so I had to deal with that.” He let out a long sigh, rubbing his temple. That man could be such a handful sometimes. “How did you guys fair up in Emerald?” The desire for a cigarette was becoming more prominent as fingers tapped against his thigh, prompting Zen to open the lounge door and hold it open for the man.

image

I’m glad to hear that you were able to
get everything in on time. Ijuuin Sensei
isn’t usually like that, is he? Though all
sympathy goes to you. I’ve been in your
shoes way too many times before.

The disdain that Kirishima felt towards his own mangaka was all too familiar to Takano. Due to the fact that he never liked anything half-assed, the chief editor expected nothing, but the best from his mangkas. What a mistake that was. Despite those feelings, the man knew that they were trying their hardest–at least–that’s what he’s forcing himself to believe. The chief editor could feel his health slowly deteriorating with each manuscript that comes his way. At this point, it wouldn’t even matter to him if he was dying or not; he’d rather have a successful story out than to be stuck in a hospital bed.

As the two made their way into the lounge area, the chief editor found his hand reaching instinctively in his pocket–pulling out a packet of cigarettes. With his free hand, Takano motioned to the table nearest the window–striding his way over as he pulled out a chair. Before he could even light his cigarette, the man examined the other before him–a quiet chuckle slipping past his lips as he took a stick out whilst placing it between his lips. The silence between the two was a bit suffocating, but in a way, understandable to Takano. Meeting his eyes with the other pair, the man spoke; his words murmured as he attempted to light his cigarette.

I think this actually the first time we’ve
spoken this intimately with one another.
                             I’m actually a bit surprised. I thought
 you
                                   hated me somehow.
