BEMUSEMENT marred his features, mouth pulled to a tight line as proper consequence upon being physically hurt by that misplaced pun. Oh Saga, Saga. You have sunken low indeed.  Poor guy.

❛  And I have never been hurt like that PUN of yours
did me. Please stop. The secondhand embarrassment
physically pains me. What do you mean pay? What
more do you want? I already keep you company to save
                                           you from your   L O N E S O M E   self.  ❜

Yuu should be shown GRATEFULNESS for his charity, really. Nevermind the fact that he was not exactly doing this out of the goodness of his heart but rather because he himself had no one else to hang out with too. A finger fiddled with an unused chopstick to distract himself just then, eager to ignore the ugly thorns of gloom that seemed to be nagging at the back of his head at the thought. He wasn’t lonely, but he wasn’t particularly overjoyed by the fact that he had no one else either. At least Saga CHOSE to keep to himself.

The sound of hand clapping brought him out of his reverie, however, and struggled to swat at the hand currently PINCHING him. Not that he was trying his hardest to shoo him away though, if his laughter was anything to go by.

❛ That actually hur – GET OFF !!

image

I want a Kyaraben. Make it extra cute.  ❜

image

❝ Payback for all of those insults, I guess. At least
                           I wouldn’t hurt you PHYSICALLY. That’d probably
hurt more than my words. But going back to the
LONESOME thing. I mean, I could just hang out
with Ritsu if our friendship is just payment

Friendship really was enough for Saga, actually. Rhetorics that fell from Yuu’s mouth, though sometimes hurtful, were secretly a blessing in the teen’s life, but he would never let his best friend know. He should’ve already known that from the beginning.

The sound of Yuu’s laughter caused a smile to break out on the teen’s face. Though he was used to the solemn demeanor that the other wore, Saga would never be content with himself unless he was able to act–to make his friend smile once again. As he dropped his hand’s from Yuu’s face, the teen leaned back in his seat; hands pointing to the other’s face,

❝ You know, you look better smiling. You should do
it more often. Maybe then, you won’t look like su-
ch a grumpy old man anymore. What kind of ch-
aracter do you want on there, kiddo?

❛ Well he would have left you by now if he
                                            actually took your bullshit seriously.
Whatever you fed him to make him
LOVE you so much, I want it. ❜

Maybe then Chiaki could actually pause for a second and LOOK at him, see him, notice how much he felt for him. Maybe then Yuu wouldn’t feel so pathetic chasing after someone like this, letting feelings and useless affections fester from within even whilst knowing that it was all in VAIN. Maybe then he could be grossly happy like Masamune and his precious Ritsu.

A snort escaped him, giving the other a sidelong glance. The fucking GALL of this brat to dismiss his cooking skills like that when he had been busy finishing off his lunch like it was nothing just a few moments ago – practically inhaling the thing. DISRESPECTFUL KOUHAI

❛ Then tomorrow’s bento is on you.
Make me those cute octopus wieners. ❜

image

❝ Wow, I have never been hurt in such a way. I think
YUU need to watch your words. Ha, get it? But if
you want what he’s having, you’re gonna need to
                             pay up.

The teen snickered quietly as he continued to consume his best friend’s lunch–glancing up at the other from time to time. The same blank stare that Yuu wore on certain days seemed to plaster itself there, despite his playful tone. Concern was always a feeling that Masamune felt whenever he was around his friend–knowing full well what was on his mind; however, the teen never wanted to voice that concern. The burden would just be too much for Yuu to handle.

Rolling his eyes, Masamune was able to leave half of the meal to the other as he clapped his hands together and bowed his head slightly as a sign of appreciation. A smirk laid upon his lips as the teen leaned over and pinched the other’s cheek roughly–twisting the skin a bit as he spoke,

❝ Even though you’re the eldest, you’re still the biggest
brat between the two of us. I never said your cooking
was bad. I just said it’s not the best compared to mine.

❛ You’re not my type, let’s be real.
Also, I highly doubt your actual boyfriend
would like it if he heard you say that. ❜

A nudge dealt followed suit, urging the other to LIFT his head up from where its perched. Yuu might say shit like that but his lunch box was being put onto the table nonetheless, placed significantly closer to Takano to offer his food WORDLESSLY. Yeah, he wasn’t actually going to say that he was giving in to the other’s wishes. Subtlety had never been his strongest suit but Yuu was willing to try for the sake of his own pride

❛ You just want me for my cooking anyway.
I feel very used right now. ❜

“Hate to break it to you, but I don’t think you’d
ever be my type. You’re a bit too much for me
to handle. Ritsu knows I’m only joking when I
say things like that. Well–I hope he does.”

A snicker slipped past the boy’s lips as Saga sat straight up; his eyes glazing over the bento that was laid out before him. With the short silence, a growl could be heard within the depths of the teen’s stomach. The restraints that held him back from devouring the food dissipated; his hands clapping together as he uttered a small thanks before grabbing the utensils and taking a bite out of the food. Brown eyes glanced back at Yuu as a smile made it’s way onto Saga’s face. With a slight bow of his head, the teen made it a habit to finish his food before speaking,

“We all know who’s the better cook between
the two of us. I just happened to not have ti-
me this morning to make lunch.”

The shushing coming from the other students from nearby table was easy enough to IGNORE - the one from the librarian herself was not. Piercing glare met his own, as if both were trying to stare down the other into submission. Yuu was not taking any of that, of course. It wasn’t as if he had done anything terribly WRONG. It was lunch time anyway - why would anyone want to spend their free time reading in peace?

                                                     ❛ Bunch of losers. ❜

He was careful enough to make sure such a comment was HUSHED, muttered under his breath lest trouble was to arise. He was sure Saga heard - though perhaps that was the point.

❛ Why should I bring you a bento?
                                                       I’m not your boyfriend. ❜

Even with that said, they both knew Yuu would relent sooner or later and will share the food anyway. He’d like to think he was a good SENPAI like that and not because he couldn’t get himself to say no to the other.

An disappointed sigh slipped out of the boy’s mouth as Saga caught his best friend’s muttered words. Though he was used to Yuu’s snarky attitude, the teen couldn’t help, but bite his own tongue when he’s around him–not to protect his own reputation–but to also help extinguish the chaos that might break out around them. To be understanding wasn’t something Saga expected from Yuu, but it was something he really needed the most.

Brown irises rolled–a light scoff slipping past plump lips. An act was all he could put up, but the teen could feel his stomach churn inward from his hunger. Despite the comment, Saga took no offense to it. Yes it was true that he had now found himself…a boy–if that’s the right thing to say. Though their relationship was steadily growing, the boy couldn’t bring himself to openly say it, especially around his best friend. A hidden smile broke out as he rested his forehead on the table; his words, laced with a hint of sarcasm, slipped out quietly,

“Give me a break. I just want food. Besides,
                           aren’t guy friends considered boyfriends?
So that means you gotta give me food.”

PERHAPS it had been the deprivation of attention he so sought for laced carefully with frustration and irate emotions that seemed to have been BUILDING UP without his knowing, that made every step he took towards the library full of intent. Consistently feeling as if he was disrupting SELFISHLY whatever bubble Chiaki and Hatori had built around themselves was not exactly doing him any good. There was no reason for him to stay there and eat lunch with the pair if he was obviously unwanted, really. It wasn’t like he didn’t have any other FRIENDS to bother.

image

                     ❛ ———— Oi, Masamune! ❜

This was no way to catch his friend’s attention, especially considering the other had chosen to ( yet again ) coop himself up in the comfort of the school’s library, really. But there he was, STROLLING in through the doors with his bento box in hand before plopping himself next to the boy. Honestly, did the guy not have anyone to share lunch with that he so chooses to spend his time in the library instead? It was rather SAD

❛ Have you even eaten already?
                                       You haven’t, have you?
Don’t worry, SENPAI is here. ❜

Brown eyes slowly scanned each perfectly printed word. Intricate sentences and engrossing storyline drew Masamune to bask in the novel. In a way, this was the only way he found peace in his life. With the amount of disdain he felt towards a majority of the masses, including his parents, the only thing the boy wanted was SILENCE. That, of course, always HAD to be crushed, however. Put it up to the stupidity of youth, but it was on his own account that Saga allowed so more than one person to slip into his life without a struggle: Yuu Yanase. The sound of his voice echoed throughout the library, followed by a chorus of hushed grumbles that directed towards him. Loose brown curls peaked up at each end and maroon eyes turned into crescents as Masamune met them with his own. Though he was slightly irritated with his best friend’s presence, the teen couldn’t help but feel the corners of his lips turn upward into a lazy smile–setting his book down gently onto the table whilst placing a bookmark between the ivory pages. With a soft voice, Masamune spoke out; his tone MOCKING, in a way.

image

“Oi, Yanase. Ever heard of being POLITE?
                                  There’s people trying to read.”

A heavy sigh emitted from the boy as he leaned back in his chair; arms crossing over his chest as he examined the other. Reading Yuu’s expression came easy to Masamune, which was more so a curse than a blessing for him. In cases like these, creases would form on the devil’s boy’s face–WORRY filling him to the brim. Wanting to brush away his thoughts, the teen kept his smile plastered on his face, shaking his head before gesturing for his own food,

“Oh really? Did senpai happen to bring ME
food, or is he just bragging that he has his
own? Either way, I’m still eating it.”
