                                 ❛ … kamijou.. kamijou hiroki. ❜

HE SAYS IT LIKE THAT but Hiroki still couldn’t help but feel rather guilty by his actions. He was supposed to be someone composed and rational. So how did things end up like this? As always, Akihiko was the only one who could leave this much effect on him. Sighing dreadfully, he said,

❛ i apologize for any inconvenient
                                   i’ve given anyway.. you’re on
your way home right? you can
just leave me once you’ve con-
                                   ted akihiko’s editor. ❜

                         “Takano. Takano Masamune.”

Short, but simple: that was the way the man tried to keep the conversation; it seemed to be the best way to communicate to the irritable stranger. Knowing full well how the other felt, Takano made a mental note to mind his words and actions–mostly to defend himself–not the other way around. Footsteps echoed throughout the empty lounge as he sat down in a nearby chair–wandering eyes looking everywhere besides the man before him. Before he had the chance to even speak, the chief editor caught Kamijou’s words; his response, though quick, was only a light shake to his head as he spoke,

                          “It’s quite alright, actually. I
have time to kill before act-
                           ually heading home. I’ll be
                           here until Usami-sensei ar-
                           rives, if that’s alright with
                                            you.”

THE MALE FOLLOWED THE OTHER in pure silence, cheeks flushed at the thought of finally seeing Akihiko. Despite the anger he was feeling, he still can’t help feel nervous in front of the person he loves after all. Finally managing to calm down, the brunet took the time to apologize to the stranger for his rude attitude a while ago. Now that he had gotten his composure back, he can think more clearly.

                                   ❛ um.. sorry about that.. i didn’t..
mean to sound rude a while
ago, if that is how it come off
                                     to you.. ❜

The sudden change in the man’s tone shocked the editor as he glanced back at him; eyes still cautious as he turned attention away. FRUSTRATION emitted from the stranger, prompting Takano to be a bit more lenient towards him. He endured too much throughout the day to have someone yell at him for something so PIETY. With a slight wave of his hand to dismiss his apology, the editor found his way to the lounge as he held out a chair for the other; his expression never changing,

“It’s quite alright. You seemed to be
standing there for quite some time.
Even I would be irritated. No need
                                  for apologies, Mister…?”

A GRUNT OF IRRITATION VIBRATED at Hiroki’s throat as eyes rolled to take a sigh. Seriously. His head was all over the place in concern and yet Akihiko didn’t seem too care how his actions affected him greatly. Brushing it off with  a click of his tongue, the professor proceeded into speaking to the other – a nod performed before tiers parted to speak.

image

❛ ah. yes. um.. yeah, if you
                                     don’t mind. and also can
you ask them to hurry? i
really just— i just need to
                                     talk to him. ❜

image

Visible irritation laid upon the stranger’s face, causing the editor to take a step back; his eyes trained on his movements. Though he was a somewhat irritable person himself, the man knew when and when not to cross specific lines with others, especially with the stranger. He hadn’t known exactly how long he stood there, but he didn’t want to push his patience any further. With a slow nod, Takano gestured for the other to follow him; his body turning and walking towards the entrance,

                           “Alright. Please follow me. I’ll
                            send Ms. Aikawa a message
                               and see where they are.”

ANXIETY ONLY CONTINUE TO grow as more minutes passed by; his thoughts merely revolving around the possible scenarios his childhood friend could be going through right now. His voice was.. unusual during the short time they have communicated through the phone ─ which is why the uncertainty of Akihiko’s current situation damage a huge part of Hiroki’s system. Gradual tapping on both his foot and fingers occurred, uneasiness evident on his features; an OUTBURST of emotions was about to explode if the other hadn’t interrupted him with his questions.

HIS HEAD QUICKLY TURN to where the voice come from, eyes narrowed and set to who was there. Well, he was kinda thankful for his interruption ─ so to say he was saved from creating ruckus and embarrassing himself. With a loud sigh, tiers parted to respond.

❛ … sorry but is AKIHIKO USAMI
                                    around? i’m his childhood friend
and i’d really like to talk to him
                                    now.. if possible. ❜

Akihiko Usami…? The author’s name rolled off Takano’s tongue easily as the editor adjusted the bag slung on his shoulder. Though he knew that he shared the same space as the renowned author, the man was still in awe that he was privileged enough to even be in the same building as Usagi sensei; nonetheless, Takano steered his thoughts back to reality. Watchful eyes scanned the stranger’s features as he pondered over the credibility of his words; however, instead of taking him as a crazed fan, the editor could only respond earnestly–eyes now locked with the other’s,

image

“Usami Sensei hasn’t been on the
                            premise since yesterday. Though,
I’m not too sure about today. He’s
in a different department than I. If
you’d like, I can call the literature
department and ask if they’ve seen
him. would you mind waiting a bit?”

HE COULD SWEAR TO anyone right now that if Akihiko hadn’t called him, he wouldn’t have find himself standing in front of an editing company. His friend seem like he was in some kind of trouble when he was calling which is why the worried Hiroki had rush himself to where he was. Sighing, the teacher lean his back at the concrete wall of the building, brows furrowed as he grumble his frustrations out.

❛ damn it, akihiko– if this
                                 is something silly, i’m
gonna kick you in the ass..
                                 … come out already. ❜

Exhaustion was worn perfectly on the chief editor’s face as Takano made his way out of his office; his body becoming dead weight as his feet slowly dragged along the floor. Despite maintaining a nonchalant expression, the man was practically DYING on the inside. A large part of him was grateful that he was even able to do something mildly related to his dream job; however, the hard reality that was blurred behind the benefits always seemed to come back into focus. Large hands dragged along his face, prompting Takano to wipe away a small portion of his slumber away. The glare of natural light dawned on the editor as his eyes squinted quickly; their focus turning to a man waiting on the side–irritation dressed on their features. Curiosity loomed over Takano as he made his way towards the stranger; his lips parting as he spoke,

“Excuse me, but are you LOST?
                          Are you looking for someone?”
